Offshore Oil and Gas

Jack-up structures

Ensuring the foundation of jack-up structures, such as jack-up platforms, is a great challenge, taking into account the size of the structures, their locations all around the world with variety in geology and offshore soil conditions, the increased tendency for installations in deep water and the expected environmental changes and weather hazards.

GEO offers a number of investigations needed for the engineering assessment of jack-up structures. We carry out CPT- and vibrocore samplings as well as seismic surveys. The collected data is tested at our state-of-the-art laboratory.

Pipelines and sub sea structures e.g. templates

Before laying oil and gas pipelines and other seabed installations it is necessary to carry out a series of preliminary geotechnical surveys of and samples from the seabed.

GEO offers to carry out these tasks with the help of its seabed rigs for CPT and Vibrocore sampling. GEO can ensure a rapid, reliable result on the basis of its great expertise and its equipment.

Signature project:
GEO performed site investigations in connection with the construction of a 2000 km long gas pipeline, Ormen Lange, running from gas fields in Northern Norway to England. GEO carried out vibrocore and CPT samples along the whole route.
