Advanced geotechnical design

Abaqus Analysis of Spudcan Penetration
PLAXIS 3D Analysis of Jack-up-Skirted
Spudcan Soil Interaction

The performance of geotechnical constructions in connection with permanent and temporary building and construction work, as well as offshore constructions, is generally based on the design of a geological/geotechnical calculation model and subsequent analytical calculation methods.

GEO has developed programmes for traditional geotechnical calculations in connection with spudcan penetration analyses, see:

In addition we use finite element calculations such as PLAXIS 2D og 3D, ABAQUS and ELFEN, etc., for:

  • Spudcan penetration analyses
  • Simulating reservoir deformation
  • Static and dynamic dimensioning of wind turbine foundations
  • The dimensioning of sheet piling and soil anchors
  • Determining the stability of slopes, retaining walls, and constructions of reinforced soil
  • Analyses of ground vibration in connection with constructions subject to dynamic influence
