Bridges, offshore windmill farms, underground railways. These and other large-scale constructions owe their existence to a solid foundation. A solid foundation demands accurate and relevant data on rock/soil composition, properties and behaviour. The service of GEO includes a state-of-the-art laboratory and expert knowledge designed to analyse and test all types of field samples – including Danish as well as foreign soil types.
We test all types of rocks, soils and soil-like materials.

One of our primary strengths is model testing. We design and carry out model tests for specific projects in close dialogue with our clients. Over time we have accumulated extensive experience in testing and characterizing chalk, sandstone, clay, clay till and shale – see Rock Mechanics

Furthermore, we test soil-like materials, such as slag/dross, fly ash/coal combustion products, wood pellets etc.

Research and Development

GEO’s laboratory cooperates with a number of universities around the world, among others University of Liège, University of Stavanger and Stanford University as well as the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and University of Aalborg. Combined with our competent staff and modern equipment, this provides us with a unique possibility for developing new methods, e.g. for oil recovery.
